USAT Pacific Northwest Region Invites Local Race Director and Coach to Serve on Council

Local triathlon professional Michael Hays accepts USAT’s invitation to serve on regional committees.

Idaho Falls, ID, Monday, April 20, 2009:  USAT, the official governing body of triathlon in the United States, is pleased that Michael Hays of Idaho Falls, Idaho, has accepted the invitation to serve on the Pacific Northwest Regional Council.

Hays will begin work immediately in all aspects of USAT development with specific responsibility in the areas of Race Development and Public Relations.  Hays’ perspective as a regional race director uniquely positions him to develop the sport of triathlon throughout the Pacific Northwest Region, which includes Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

As race director of the three largest triathlons in eastern Idaho and a driving force for the sport in the region, Michael was selected by USAT to bring his positive energy and new ideas to the region’s fastest growing sport.  Michael has been a competitive triathlete, currently coaches many of the area’s top competitors, and is the president of Personal Best Performance.
